These aerospace-focused field trips will capture the attention and imagination of your students. Each 90-minute field trip includes a 45-minute activity and 45-minute self-guided connection. Each experience aligns with school standards.

AVIATION MUSEUM

Biomimicry
Compare and contrast different aircraft designs up close by connecting them to flying creatures native to Oregon.

Early Learners (K - 1st grade)

NGSS Standards: K-LS1-1, 1-LS1-1


The Science of Flight
Applying the four forces of flight, students will use teamwork to engineer their own gliders while drawing inspiration from aircraft all around them.

Elementary (2nd - 5th grade)

NGSS Standards: 2-PS1-2, 3-PS2-1, 4-PS3-1, 5-PS2-1


Aircraft Technologies
Students can discover a new slide of aviation, from espionage to environmental, by flying various aircraft in the Flight Simulator Lab.

Middle School (6th - 8th grade)

NGSS Standards: MS-P24-2, MS-PS4-3


The Impacts of Aviation
The history of aviation and its impact on society is put into context when students dive into the important flight milestones by engaging in our exhibits.

High School (9th - 12th grade)

Social Studies Standards: HS.48


SPACE MUSEUM

Constellation Exploration
Young explorers can discover the stories of the sky in the constellation exhibit and make their own Solar System scale.

Early Learners (K - 1st grade)

NGSS Standards: 1-ESS1-1


The Space Garden
Students will get their hands dirty to investigate how plants grow in space and why they are important to space travel and Earth.

Elementary (2nd - 5th grade)

NGSS Standards: 2-LS4-1, 3-LS3-2, 4-LS1-1, 5-LS1-1


Paper Rockets
Under the shadow of the Titan II, students will have a blast when they build and launch their own rocket!

Middle School (6th - 8th grade)

Living & Working in Space
Students will learn about the Space Race through human stories and interacting with space artifacts while discovering how it impacts current space exploration.

High School (9th - 12th grade)

STRUCTURE

A 90-minute field trip with an activity and self-guided connection. 

Available Monday - Friday: 10 am, noon & 2 pm.

Each experience aligns with school standards listed below.
